Working Groups

Working groups form the foundation of all CCRO activities and development. Select CCRO members are formed into a task force dedicated to addressing specific key issues to the risk management community.

We Help Shape Our Industry's Best Practices

Our working groups are a collaboration of members working on new research that would be difficult to develop independently under traditional mechanisms.

Such goals to be achieved may include:

Creation of Informational Documents (usually White Papers)
Creation of Standards
Resolution of Problems Related to Risk Management Systems

They work to help develop best practices to strengthen and standardize risk management and financial management practices in the physical and financial trading and marketing of electricity and natural gas for investors, regulators, financial institutions and other energy companies.

Compliance with our best practice recommendations by its members is voluntary.

Membership

Today, credit rating agencies are smarter than ever about risk management and shareholders demand more accountability, transparency, and predictability. Both want fewer surprises. Federal and state regulators and stock exchanges increasingly are demanding that Boards of Directors and senior executives are involved - extensively - in understanding the myriad credit and other risks their companies face now and in the future. All these stakeholders expect credible, enterprise-wide, programs to be in place to manage these risks.
