Risk Management Standards

Risk Management Standards Work Stream

The Risk Management Standards work stream is tasked with developing a set of risk management standards that reflect what the CCRO believes to be the minimum set of acceptable risk management capabilities a firm should possess in order to participate in ISO / RTO markets. The work stream is a continuation of activities within the broader working group that began with publication of the initial Risk Management questionnaire, which helped to establish in broad terms the intent and scope of the standard. From here, the work stream intends to solicit participant feedback on draft text for standards, as well as, when appropriate, additional questionnaires. This feedback will then be incorporated in to future drafts of the standard. The intent is for the work stream to produce set of risk management standards that provide sufficient guidance for ISO/RTO’s and their participants to utilize in complying with minimum participation requirements related to FERC order 741, in the form of a published white paper. Our goal is publish an initial version of this white paper by mid-November 2011. The work stream may continue working beyond mid-November to publish additional versions of the standards, as dictated based on future responses and developments.
