Executive Director, Committee of Chief Risk Officers

Bob became Executive Director of the CCRO in January 2004. In this role, he is the Committee's principal spokesperson, lead strategist and chief admin- istrator. He represents the Committee before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and major industry conferences.

Before agreeing to lead the CCRO, Bob was a Corporate Vice President and the Chief Risk Officer for El Paso Corporation in Houston. There he was responsible for design, development, and implementation of El Paso's ground-breaking enterprise-wide risk management work and represented El Paso on the CCRO. From 1999 through early 2003, Anderson's group introduced new approaches to capital allocation and performance measurement. He was a major contributor to the CCRO white paper on assessing capital adequacy.

Most recently, Bob led an effort to create a non-profit, neutral platform for collecting and housing energy transaction and pricing data called the Energy Data Hub. This Hub has been organized as a separate legal entity and Bob is one of its three Directors.

Before El Paso, Bob was a consultant with McKinsey & Company, helping clients with issues related to firm-wide risk management and performance measurement. And before that, he worked for what is now BP Oil primarily in its energy derivatives group and founded his own software development firm to help trucking companies and diesel sellers manager their portfolio of diesel price risks.

Bob's educational background includes an MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business and a BE in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
